Dr Alam is a highly acclaimed multi-award winning London Consultant Dermatologist who looks after adults and children with conditions of the skin hair and nails. We at Dr Alam’s team always do our very best to ensure that all our patients receive the highest standard of care. Our aim is to look after our patients as we ourselves would wish to be looked after. Most of our referrals are based on personal word of mouth recommendations from our patients whose skin issues have been treated successfully by our team.
Outstanding clinical and academic achievements
Dr Alam is the recipient of multiple undergraduate and postgraduate awards including being awarded the Hospitals Gold Medal at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School for first prize in MBBS medical finals.
She was awarded Medical School Distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology
She was also the recipient of multiple Medical School prizes in Thoracic Medicine, Neurology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Her postgraduate training included Imperial College and the Royal Brompton Hospital and Dermatology specialist training at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College London.
She completed a PhD with award-winning postgraduate research in genetic skin conditions with prizes from the Royal College of Physicians, the Skin Investigation Society and the British Association of Dermatology annual trophy and prize. Dr Alam’s research has been published in Nature Genetics and many additional high impact factor medical journals. She currently sees patients with rare genetic skin conditions at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
She has also acted as clinical editor of a quarterly scientific journal, Current Medical Literature in Dermatology.
Dr Alam currently teaches undergraduate medical students as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. She has been awarded a commendation for teaching excellence and is President of the Imperial College Student Dermatology Society
